Philippine ICT Market Projected to Nearly Double by 2031 on 5G and Government Digitalization

A new market report projects the Philippine ICT sector growing from roughly $30 billion in 2026 to over $50 billion by 2031, driven by 5G expansion, cloud adoption, and government digital services.

A market research report published this week projects the Philippine ICT sector growing from about $27.2 billion in 2025 to $30.16 billion in 2026, reaching roughly $50.53 billion by 2031 — an annual growth rate near 11% — driven by 5G rollout, cloud adoption, data-center investment, and continued growth in e-wallet and digital-payment use.

The government's e-Government Masterplan has moved an estimated 70% of public services online, while the Digital Bayanihan program has installed more than 400 satellite terminals in remote areas for digital-skills training. Globe and PLDT have each added more than 100 new 5G sites in underserved areas this year. IT services remain the largest single segment of the market, while cybersecurity is currently the fastest-growing.

The projection lines up with earlier figures from the Department of Information and Communications Technology, which estimated telecom companies would spend roughly ₱153 billion on capital investment in 2026.
