PH Steps Up Maritime Patrols in West Philippine Sea
The government vows to sustain its presence in contested waters amid continued tensions in the region.

The Philippine Coast Guard and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources have stepped up joint maritime patrols in the West Philippine Sea, officials confirmed this week.
The increased presence is aimed at supporting Filipino fisherfolk and asserting the country’s sovereign rights within its exclusive economic zone.
Officials said patrols would continue on a regular rotation, with coordination from the National Maritime Council.
